A book hasn’t grabbed me this immediately in a long time. I think the last book to do this was The Good Girl (still one of my favorites, and you should definitely read it). However, I think The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena may be the best book I’ve read in 2018 (So far. There’s still time to beat it.)! It’s been a minute since I wanted to read every spare moment I had in order to finish it. Oh, how I envy my mother being retired and having the opportunity to read all day. A friend of mine actually saw my recommendation on my Facebook page and said she finished it in 24 hours.
All The Thoughts
It’s so hard to write an adequate and detailed review on The Couple Next Door without giving away any spoilers. I promise you that there are twists and turn in every chapter. The ending will blow your mind. My mom mentioned that she wasn’t getting into the book around page six. Then, she turned to page seven and was HOOKED.
This is one of the saddest and most pathetic book reviews I’ve ever written. I’m serious though that a mention of anything will be a spoiler to the book itself. Go out and get the book or order it online. Finish up whatever you’re doing. Cancel all of your plans. Curl up in your favorite chair. This will be the book of summer. I need to go update my beach reads!
