New City. New Bucket List. New Adventures.

Marietta

I’m finally starting to settle into my new apartment in my new city (Marietta, GA). Whenever you go somewhere new, you have to make a list of all the new places you want to go and things you want to do.

Now, I picked Marietta because it’s one of those cute towns. I grew up going to the Square because that’s where our dance store was. My dad worked at the hospital right down the street.

Restaurants

Marietta Square – They’ve added so many restaurants and cute places in the Square! I’m bummed I missed Restaurant Week, but I’ll make up for it.

Activities

SunTrust Park & The Battery

Refuge Dance – I’m going to start taking classes again!

Farmers Markets

Glover Park Concert Series

Atlanta Botanical Garden – I went a couple of years ago with a good friend in the winter, and I would love to go in the springtime. They have an outdoor kitchen and do demonstrations with different Atlanta chefs! The also have a cocktail hour every Thursday from May to September. Count me in!

Parks, Trails, & Outdoor Spaces

Sope Creek Paper Mill Ruins

Kennesaw Mountain – I actually don’t remember ever climbing Kennesaw Mountain. I thought it would be fun to take Olivia on a new adventure.

McFarlane Nature Park

Heritage Park

I think that’s a good start. PLUS, I’m only 15-20 minutes from Atlanta (on a good day), so I can go try new restaurants and concerts and all sorts of things in Atlanta. I think we might be celebrating my sister’s birthday at a Taco & Margarita Festival (if I can talk her into it!). What else should I add to my Marietta bucket list? I’m here for a while, so I definitely want to make the most of it.
