Friday Five: November 2018

november friday five

Phew! It’s already the end of November. Did everyone have a nice Thanksgiving? For me, November was a month to get a bit back into my groove. I put some regular gym time in my planner, started reading more, and started cooking again! The temperature has dropped like crazy, and it’s downright cold outside. I am (apparently) not ready for winter this year.

Before I go into my #FridayFive, I want to give a special shoutout to my girl Kate from A Thought & A Half. It’s her birthday today! She taught me all I know about blogging, and is far more successful than I’ll likely ever be. Happy Birthday, friend! Here’s a fun fact: We’ve been friends since preschool!

I’m loving my gym classes! It’s hard for me to motivate myself in the gym. If I want to stop, I’ll just stop working out. However, I’ve found a few classes at my gym that I just can’t live without. I leave with the best kind of sore muscles.

After a very difficult October, November has brought time with friends, and I’m so grateful! I had the opportunity to “warm” my friends’ new home and even shower a future mama-to-be. Having moved away from Athens, I thought it would be difficult to stay friends, but those that matter stick around.

Thank you, Jodi Picoult, for the beauty that isĀ Small Great Things. I’m almost three years behind in getting to read it, but I absolutely loved it. It’s certainly one of my favorite books of 2018, and I 100% recommend it if you’re looking for a new read.

I don’t really like the people who put up Christmas decorations right after Halloween. Generally, my rule is that I’ll decorate my house the day after Thanksgiving. This year, I put up my tree the day before. Whoops! Having my tree lit and stockings hung just makes me so happy!

This month, I have exclusively read off of my Kindle. My library has had almost all of the holds I placed available, one right after the other. It’s been nice because I can take my books with me for any surprise downtime, but I am looking forward to diving back in to some of my physical books in December.

Here’s to hoping that everyone has a wonderful holiday season! I’m excited to spend it with family and exchange gifts with some of my favorite people.
