Quotes about Life & Change

I planned out my monthly quotes back when I first started Adventures in Nonsense. The months so far have been related to how I was feeling…loving yourselfand finding strength when you really need it. This time, I’m focusing on life and change.

I thought that I would be in a very different place in my life at this point in time. I’m 25…I thought I would be in a relationship headed toward marriage, doing something I really love somewhere I really want to be. Life’s definitely got a funny sense of humor. However, when you get down to it, I think I’m the one holding myself back. Honestly, I’m afraid of change. That’s why I held on to my last relationship for so long. That’s why I was scared to leave Athens after graduation to move to a new city. Change is scary, but it’s a part of life, and I need to come to terms with that.

It’s in your hands whether you want to start your life and your journey today or “someday”. I want to become a certified event coordinator…someday. Why not today?! Granted, there are some financial things that need to be taken care of, so that delay I feel is very practical.

This quote really spoke to me. So often, life becomes encumbered by trying to please everyone else. Change your mindset (and change theirs too) and become who you were meant to in life. If you’re going to change, become who you want to be.

You might feel like your life is falling apart. What if that is your life falling together?

If you do daily affirmations, keep this one around. If you’re like me, and you’re looking for something in your life to change, keep thinking positive thoughts. Wish for a magnificent transformation.

Maybe you’re unhappy because of the end of a relationship. Don’t jump into one immediately. Maybe you didn’t get a promotion. Don’t let it affect your current success.

This is my biggest pain point. I’m so afraid of change and failure that I feel I may be unhappy for a while. I really need to get over that. Change in life is good.

This was one thing that was always said to me in my previous relationship. “Don’t complain about it if you have a way to change it and you’re doing nothing.” It’s a fair point. If there’s a wall in front of you, do you keep running into the wall? No, you find a ladder or you turn around.

This really resonates with me. Often, I do find myself getting overwhelmed in certain interactions and situations. This client yelled at me or that client didn’t understand what I was saying. I’m not going to remember these interactions in five years. Prioritize my feelings. Let those that don’t improve my life go.

If you’ve ever talked to someone about a fizzling friendship or end of a relationship, you often hear “They really changed.” You know what? That’s okay. Maybe they changed to be friends with you and realized that it wasn’t who they wanted to be. Maybe they sacrificed so much in their relationship to be who you wanted them to be that they just got tired of pretending.

This brings me back to reading The Magnolia Story. If you find that you’re just making your way through life, going through the motions, stop. Take a look at what you’re doing, and find a way to thrive. For me, the first step toward living a life that I really want is this blog.

If you find time this week, take a minute to look at your life. Do you need or want to change? Are you unhappy? I hope, for all of you, that the next few months be a period of magnificent transformation.
