Hi! I’m Caroline, And This Is Adventures In Nonsense.

Tomorrow is Adventure In Nonsense’s 2nd birthday! Last year, I reflected on all that I learned from my first year of blogging. As I sit and write this now, I can’t possibly fathom how fast the year went by. I’ve realized that, in two years, I haven’t introduced myself or really shared the why of the origin of Adventures In Nonsense.

A little about me.

Let’s get through some basics. I’m 26, almost 27. I’m a Georgia Peach born and raised. I graduated from the University of Georgia in December 2013 with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Business Management, with a minor in Fashion Merchandising. After graduating, I wanted to become a wedding planner.

My lovely parents have been married for 35 years. I have an older sister who is married, and they have a daughter (my sweet niece).

I rescued Olivia on February 14, 2016. She was underweight and neglected, and her name was “Mahaley” (Don’t even get me started there). Since then, we’ve been able to go on adventures all over the state. She’s thriving, and has been there with me through some very tough times.

My day job consists of a lot of different things. My boss once referred to me as the “Swiss Army Knife” of our company.

I’m an avid book reader, and proud nerd. In 2019, my goal is to read 52 books. One book a week. I was able to read 45 books in 2018, so I think it’s attainable. I love all things Harry Potter and Doctor Who. However, I think making a female Doctor with this most recent regeneration was a mistake. Once upon a time, I had dreams of being on Broadway, and I still love the chance to see live theatre whenever I can.

Why blogging?

I went through a breakup July 2016. It resulted in me living on my own for the first time in my life. No roommates, nothing. I found myself getting very restless. I had Olivia, so we were going on walks and getting out as best we could. However, it’s only so safe for a young woman to be out and about in the dark at night.

Then, I did some research on good hobbies for restlessness. At the top of the list was knitting. Now, bless my family members. They’ve tried to teach me, and I just got more aggravated than relaxed or anything. Blogging was on the list too. A girlfriend of mine blogs (more successfully than I do), and I thought I’d give it a try. By the way, go check out Kate at A Thought And A Half. She taught me everything!

Why ‘Adventures In Nonsense’?

At the time I bought by domain, my life really was nonsense. I was trying to figure out how to be on my own for the first time. I had a dog that was a year old and difficult to train that I hadn’t thought I’d have to deal with on my own. Everything was a new adventure. The name just made sense to me. For everyone else, I think it was pure nonsense.

Where do we go from here?

Introduce yourself in the comments below! I’ve been blogging for two years now, so I think I have some repeat customers. Share my blog with your friends. If you have a business and you’d like to get featured, let me know! If you’re an author looking for reviews, I do that too!

Thank you for joining my adventures in nonsense. I have high hopes for what this year will do for us all!

I struggle at a book a week…). Love that you are expressing your thoughts and that they stimulate and challenge others. Looking forward to sharing your accomplishments in 2020.
