The First Nonsensical Post

My blog is called “Adventures in Nonsense”, but I feel like a majority of my posts are fairly practical. So, today, I’m going to be a bit silly. We all love BuzzFeed for their ridiculous articles and goofy quizzes. Let’s go down the rabbit hole…

I’m starting at their Quizzes Homepage. Some of these I feel could never be accurate. “Build a Smoothie and We’ll Guess Your Birth Month”? “Create Your Own Perfume, And We’ll Reveal A Deep Truth About You”? How does BuzzFeed know my secrets?!

I’m super curious, so I’m going to create my own perfume. Hahahahahahaha. This is ridiculous. I picked a base, middle, and top, and somehow ended up with “Citrus”. That’s whatever. The first sentence of my description: “You’re very laid-back and chill, but you’re also adventurous and ready for anything.” Dear goodness. While I wish I was laid back… I will say that the second half of it is pretty accurate “You have a quirky sense of humor, and you prefer to live life to the fullest. Despite your happy personality, your thoughts sometimes get the best of you, and as a result, you second-guess and doubt yourself.”

I’ve been watching The Office far too much recently, so it’s only fitting that I discover my Office valentine. I think part of me would really love for it to be Dwight. Crazy and unexpectedly funny. Definitely able to take care of others. Well, I didn’t get Dwight, I did get Andy! “You fall hard and put it all on the line for a chance at love. Going above and beyond in your relationships is just something you do, and you are always looking to please your significant other in ways most people wouldn’t think of. You are a very loyal partner, just like Andy!”

I’ll be traveling to Spain in the summer, so let’s see how well I remember my four years of Spanish. Side note, I did test out of one level of Spanish when I came to college, so I think there may be some hope! I got a 40%. We can just move on, and pray I don’t get lost in Spain.

What Hogwarts house am I meant to be in?! Now we’re speaking my language. So, this quiz was weird. The results separated out what portion of you would go to which house. I’m oddly spread out: 36% Ravenclaw | 26% Hufflepuff | 20% Gryffindor | 18% Slytherin. “You definitely belong in Ravenclaw, but you have a kindness that sets you apart from most. While some Ravenclaws can be seen as slightly haughty or intimidating, your Hufflepuff side means you are more approachable, and therefore have an easier time making friends. Despite your softness, you find it easy to detach yourself from emotional situations and give objective viewpoints, making you the perfect person to go to for advice. Your slight compatibility with Gryffindor house hints at an underlying desire for adventure that may manifest itself in a love of travel or trying new things.”

To close out this extremely nonsensical post, let’s go back to Sabrina, The Teenage Witch. This was one of my absolute favorite shows growing up. 19 out of 20!! Don’t judge me, but I messed up on the aunts! 90s me will never forgive myself.

How far have you gone down the rabbit hole? What’s the oddest BuzzFeed quiz you’ve ever taken?

PS. An update on my Push Up Challenge: It’s hard. My upper body strength is definitely lacking, but they are getting a bit easier as time goes on, which is nice. Keep your fingers crossed that my arms don’t give out!
