I’m a big reader. I love to read. However, what I love to do more than read is buy books. There’s a 2nd & Charles practically within walking distance of my apartment. Now, I wouldn’t walk there because drivers are dangerous and there’s no easy walking path, but the store is easily accessible. Summers, when I was by myself, I would go there for a couple of hours and just go crazy. One time, I was there when they had a BUY 2, GET 3 FREE. People, that is FIVE books for the price of two, and they’re already discounted! That place is my dream.
With that being said, I have bought a lot of books, and tend to buy more before I read what I have. I wanted to make a “Book Bucket List”, both of what I have at home, and what I may “need” to buy to complete the list.
In My Library:
- Under the Dome by Steven King – Currently in progress! Check my Book Reviews later in February!
- Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick
- The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo
- The Joy of Leaving Your Sh*t All Over the Place by Jennifer McCartney
- Paddle Your Own Canoe by Nick Offerman – I actually bought this one for my dad for his birthday so that we could read it together at some point.
- A Lion Among Men by Gregory Maguire
- Out of Oz by Gregory Maguire – These two were actually bought for me for Christmas a few years ago. I have yet to read them…
- The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
- Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick
- The Girl who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest by Stieg Larsson – I’ve started this book more than once, but it is a doozy.
- The Girl in the Spider’s Web by David Lagercrantz – This was written off of Stieg Larsson’s idea after he passed. I’m curious to see if it measures up (though I have to finish Hornet’s Nest first).
- Terribly Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer
- Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling
- Mystic River by Dennis Lehane – If this is anything like Shutter Island, it’s bound to be mind boggling.
Wish List
- The Grownup by Gillian Flynn – I’m seriously so excited about this one. Her books are fantastic (Gone Girl if you needed a reference).
- The Good Girl by Mary Kubica
- The Secret History by Donna Tartt
- Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel
- The Little Book of Spirituality: Guidance for a Better Life by Gilly Pickup
- Cosmos by Carl Sagan
- Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell
- Serial Murderers and their Victims by Eric W. Hickey – You can call me weird on this one. It’s actually a textbook, but I think the subject matter is enthralling.
- Year of Yes: How to Dance It Out, Stand in the Sun and Be Your Own Person by Shonda Rhimes
- The Summer We Read Gatsby by Danielle Ganek
